Liquin
What Problem Did We Solve for Our Customer?
Following a corporate carve-out, Liquin faced the challenge of designing and implementing an entirely new IT/OT landscape from scratch.
This meant integrating thousands of OT datapoints, DCS systems, and IoT networks into a scalable, modern, and vendor-agnostic platform—capable of supporting future industrial growth and digital innovation.
The objective: to build an operational foundation that is flexible at the edge, secure in the core, and seamlessly connected across systems.
What Did We Create to Solve This Problem?
The Vision: A Modern, Real-Time IT/OT Fabric
Liquin’s new ecosystem was designed to unify industrial operations and enterprise systems through real-time data capture, semantic modeling, and cloud-edge integration without relying on proprietary vendor stacks.
We developed a next-generation Edge Cell architecture to enable high-performance data processing and control at the edge while maintaining consistent governance and observability across the platform.
At the core of this transformation is the Helixer.io platform, providing a powerful, modular foundation for Edge orchestration, data integration, and observability across distributed industrial environments.
Architecture & Implementation
The solution consists of a fully containerized, modular ecosystem including:
- Edge Cell Architecture for real-time data capture and device control
- Custom semantic data model, inspired by ISA-95, mapping 4,500+ datapoints
- Integration with Yokogawa DCS, LoRa networks, and third-party ecosystems via Kafka
- Containerized Edge Services, deployed on hardened Linux OS nodes
- Python-based API adapters and secure container registries
- GitLab CI/CD pipelines with multi-environment deployments
- Full-stack monitoring with Datadog and Azure Monitor, including alerting via Opsgenie
The Impact: Industrial Agility at the Edge
The result is a highly interoperable, real-time industrial platform that enables Liquin to operate and scale with confidence across its production environments.
- Real-time data availability from thousands of industrial devices
- Standardized integration across IT, OT, and IoT domains
- Cloud-native scalability and strong cybersecurity enforcement
- Continuous delivery and monitoring ensuring resilience at scale
By establishing a flexible and secure edge-to-cloud architecture, Liquin has positioned itself for long-term operational resilience and digital growth.
