StoreWatch is an observability platform built for retail stores, designed to deliver operational visibility. Developed by Lionsville on the Elastic Stack, StoreWatch enables retailers to move from reactive firefighting to proactive detection ensuring smooth store operations, reliable payments, and reduced downtime.

❓ The Problem

For one of the world’s largest fashion retailers, while operating hundreds of offline clothing stores across Europe, the biggest challenge was a Lack of Visibility into what was happening inside the stores. When a PoS till or an Adyen payment terminal went down, store staff had to call central support, raising ServiceNow tickets manually. This reactive model led to delayed resolution times, operational blind spots, etc.

Customer wanted a way to move from reactive firefighting to proactive detection, ensuring store operations run smoothly, transactions are processed reliably, and downtime is minimized.

🛠️ Key Deliverables in Phase-1

• Elastic Agents deployed across 1,200+ PoS tills
• Data Ingestion Pipelines enriched with metadata (store ID, till ID, country ID)
• Dashboards & Visualizations for PoS health, Adyen 4G connectivity, transaction trends, automated PoS restarts, etc.
• Alerting & Automation integrated with PagerDuty and ServiceNow for ticket creation and escalation
• Operational Playbooks to guide L1/L2 support teams in resolving issues

To address these challenges, Lionsville implemented six core use cases in StoreWatch:

1. Asset Lifecycle Management – Tracking tills and devices across their lifecycle.
2. TechSupport – Proactive detection of technical issues before store calls.
3. Pricing Fault Detection – Surfacing mismatches in PoS pricing.
4. Transaction Trends – Monitoring transaction flows step by step (Scan → Payment → Print).
5. 4G Connectivity Monitoring of Adyen Terminals – Ensuring payment terminals remain online.
6. Automated Scheduled PoS Restarts – Reducing manual restarts with automation.
